Dear friends

We need your help to publicize the invitation to attend the Award Ceremony of the best architectural design for the reconstruction of destroyed Palestinian villages.

The participants are students of the graduating class in Architecture in three Palestinian universities (Birzeit University, Al Najah University and the Islamic University of Gaza). The Competition will be judged by international jury from UK, Ireland, Germany and the Arab world.

The competition started in Nov 2016 and designs are submitted 1 Aug 2017. Students were asked to select a village of their choice from Palestine Land Society database of 500 village files (each village file contains 6 maps of the village and a report of 11 items about it.)

The competition is organized by Palestine Land Society (PLS) with the assistance of Palestinian architect Antoine Raffoul and administered by PART within Westminster University.

We are grateful to P21 Gallery for hosting the event where the winning designs will be exhibited on 8 and 9 Sept.

The Award Ceremony will take place 7.00 pm Friday 8 Sept 2017 at the Gallery. The students will be watching on video. The winners will say a few words.

The three winners will receive a monetary award and the first will receive a short training fellowship in Europe.

We hope to invite media (TV and papers) and architectural magazines.

Finally we salute the spirit of the students who made their graduation project the reconstruction of their families’ villages from which they were expelled and where their villages destroyed by the Zionists in 1948 and 1949.

They say: We are still here. We shall return. We shall rebuild our homes.
